2. Scope of the policy

This policy applies to personal data processed through the website www.nutrinsect.it and its related services.

It does not concern websites, platforms, or services of third parties that may be reachable through external links, for which the user is invited to consult their respective privacy policies.

3. Types of data processed

Nutrinsect may process the following categories of personal data:

  • identification and contact data, such as first name, last name, address, email, and telephone number;
  • order-related data, such as products purchased, quantities, amounts, order history, return, refund, or assistance requests;
  • shipping and billing data, including delivery address, codice fiscale, partita IVA, company name, PEC, and recipient code, where necessary;
  • payment-related data, limited to information communicated by payment service providers, such as outcome, amount, date, and transaction identifier;
  • account data, such as credentials, preferences, saved addresses, and activities carried out in the personal area;
  • Partner Program data, such as personal, fiscal, and administrative information, IBAN, promotional codes, links between Partners and Promoters, attributed sales, and commissions;
  • data contained in communications sent via email, contact forms, reviews, assistance requests, or complaints;
  • navigation and technical data, such as IP address, browser type, device, operating system, pages visited, date and time of connection, online identifiers, and information related to cookies;
  • commercial preference data, such as newsletter subscription, expressed consents, and interactions with communications sent;
  • multimedia content, such as photographs or videos voluntarily sent by the user to document damaged products, delivery issues, or the condition of the live insects received.

Nutrinsect does not directly acquire full payment card data, which is processed by the payment service providers used on the website.

  • requests an invoice;
  • contact customer service;
  • sends a complaint, review, or return request;
  • subscribes to the newsletter;

Failure to provide data marked as mandatory may prevent Nutrinsect from processing the order, providing the requested service, or following up on the user's request.

Nutrinsect processes personal data for the following purposes.

6.1 Management of orders and the contractual relationship

The data is processed for:

  • manage the shopping cart and orders;
  • verify availability and payment;
  • prepare, ship, and deliver the products;
  • send order confirmations and shipping updates;
  • manage returns, refunds, warranties, complaints, and assistance;
  • fulfill customer requests before and after the purchase.

6.2 Administrative, accounting, and tax compliance

Data are processed for the issuance of tax documents, accounting registration, payment management, and fulfillment of obligations provided by applicable law.

Legal basis: execution of pre-contractual or contractual measures and, in other cases, legitimate interest of the Controller to properly manage relationships with users and customers.

6.4 Account creation and management

Data are processed to allow registration, access to the personal area, viewing of orders, and use of restricted features.

Legal basis: performance of the service requested by the user.

6.5 Nutrinsect Partner Program

Data of Partners, Partner Members, and Promoters are processed for:

  • evaluate and manage program membership;
  • create the profile and promotional codes;
  • assign customers, orders, and commissions;
  • manage the network structure and related percentages;
  • prepare reports, payments, and tax obligations;
  • prevent abusive use, duplication, and fraud.

Legal basis: performance of the contract, fulfillment of legal obligations, and legitimate interest in the proper administration and security of the program.

6.6 Newsletters and promotional communications

With the data subject's consent, Nutrinsect may use the e-mail address to send newsletters, updates, informative content, commercial communications, promotions, and product news.

Consent may be revoked at any time using the unsubscribe link found in every communication or by writing to info@nutrinsect.it. Revocation does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the revocation.

In the cases and within the limits permitted by applicable law, Nutrinsect may use the e-mail address provided during a purchase to offer products or services similar to those already purchased, always guaranteeing the possibility to object free of charge.

Nutrinsect adopts appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data from loss, destruction, unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or unlawful use.

Data access is permitted exclusively to authorized personnel and providers who need it to perform the assigned services.

8. Data recipients

Personal data may be disclosed, to the extent necessary, to the following categories of recipients:

  • authorized personnel and collaborators of Nutrinsect;
  • hosting, maintenance, security, and IT assistance providers;
  • e-commerce platform managers and related plugins;
  • payment service providers, banks, and financial institutions;
  • couriers, freight forwarders, logistics operators, and shipping management services;
  • email, newsletter, and transactional communication providers;
  • accounting, tax, legal, and administrative consultants;
  • providers of analysis, advertising, and measurement services, subject to consent where required;
  • suppliers involved in the management of the Partner Program;
  • public, judicial, tax, or supervisory authorities in the cases provided for by law.

Entities processing data on behalf of Nutrinsect are appointed, where necessary, Data Processors pursuant to Article 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

Data are not shared, except when publication is requested by the user or required by law.

9. Main services used

The site may use, in relation to the features actually active:

  • WordPress and WooCommerce for site and purchase management;
  • hosting and IT security providers;
  • WooPayments, Stripe, PayPal, or other processors shown on the checkout page;
  • Sendcloud, BRT, Poste Italiane, SDA, or other carriers used for deliveries;
  • Brevo or similar services for newsletters and operational emails;
  • Google Workspace for business communications management;
  • Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google Merchant Center, subject to consent where required;
  • Meta and related advertising tools, subject to consent where required;
  • SliceWP and other tools linked to the Partner Program;
  • login services via Google account, when chosen by the user.

Suppliers process data according to their own terms and policies, as independent controllers or processors depending on the service provided.

10. Transfer of data outside the European Economic Area

Some technology providers may process or provide access to personal data from countries outside the European Economic Area.

In such cases, the transfer is carried out in compliance with applicable legislation, based on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or other safeguards provided for by the Regulation.

11. Retention periods

Data are kept for the time necessary for the purposes for which they were collected and, subsequently, for the periods required by law or necessary for the protection of the Controller's rights.

In particular:

  • data relating to orders, invoices, and accounting fulfillments are kept for the period provided by tax and civil law, normally up to 10 years;
  • account data are kept until a deletion request is made, except for data that must be retained for legal obligations or the protection of rights;
  • data relating to support requests, complaints, returns, and warranties are kept for the time necessary for management and any defense of rights;
  • Partner Program data are kept for the duration of the relationship and subsequently for the applicable tax, accounting, and protection periods;
  • data used for the newsletter are kept until consent is withdrawn or the service is cancelled, except for the retention of information necessary to document the opt-out request;
  • data relating to consents are kept for the time necessary to demonstrate the correct acquisition and management of consent;
  • technical and security data are kept for periods proportionate to the purpose, unless needed to investigate wrongdoing or incidents;
  • the duration of cookies is indicated in the preference management panel and in the Cookie Policy.

12. Cookies and tracking tools

The site uses technical cookies necessary for its operation and may use, subject to consent, analytical, advertising, and other tracking tools.

The publication of name, image, or other identifying data occurs only within the agreed limits or those made clear to the user at the time of submission.

15. Access via third-party services

When you choose to register or log in via an external service, such as Google, Nutrinsect may receive the data necessary for authentication from the provider—typically name, email address, and account ID.

The use of the external service also remains subject to the terms and privacy policy of the relevant provider.

16. Data concerning minors

The site and purchasing services are not directly intended for minors who cannot validly enter into a contract or provide consent according to applicable laws.

Should Nutrinsect become aware of data collected without the required authorization, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.

17. Automated decision-making processes

Nutrinsect does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect the data subject.

Anti-fraud, advertising, analytical, and attribution tools may use automated rules or segmentation, without this automatically resulting in decisions with such effects.

  • withdraw consent at any time;
  • not be subject, in the cases provided for, to a decision based solely on automated processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the Autorità Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Nutrinsect may request information reasonably necessary to verify the applicant's identity and prevent unauthorized disclosure of personal data.

19. Right to object to marketing

Data subjects may object to the processing of their data for direct marketing purposes at any time and free of charge.

Following the objection, Nutrinsect will no longer use the data for that purpose, except for storing the minimum information necessary to respect the request and prevent further unsolicited mailings.

20. Complaint to the Garante

Data subjects who believe that the processing of their personal data violates the law may lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali or contact the competent supervisory authority in their country of residence or work.

Exercising the right to lodge a complaint does not affect the possibility of turning to the judicial authority.

Nutrinsect takes reasonable measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, protect accounts, and reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, modification, or disclosure.

However, no computer system can guarantee absolute security. Users are encouraged to use strong credentials, keep them confidential, and promptly inform Nutrinsect of any suspicious account use.

22. Changes to the Privacy Policy

Nutrinsect may update this policy to adapt to regulatory, technical, or organizational changes, or changes related to the services used.

The updated version will be published on this page, indicating the date of the last update. If significant changes are made, additional communication tools may be used.
